Ejari translates to ‘My rent’. It is an on-line system developed by Dubai’s Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) to enhance transparency in the market. Rental index data comes from this and helps to protect the tenant-landlord relationship.
Since March 2010, it is officially required to register all rent contracts onto Ejari. The responsibility of which, lies with the landlord, however, the cost is the responsibility of the tenant. In the case of renting a property with us, ERE HOMES can provide this service to you at a cost of just 500 AED.
So why do you need to register your contract? The answer is simple, if there is a dispute between the landlord and tenant over a rent increase or anything else related, you are only to bring the case in front of Dubai Municipalities rent committee if your contract is registered with Ejari. In the unlikely event of this sort of dispute, we would endeavor to initially address the landlord with tenant grievances in order to get to an agreeable solution beneficial for both parties and maintain a good relationship going forward.
Because, if you and we would seriously hope not, you fall out with your landlord over a rent increase or anything else, you can only bring a dispute in front of Dubai Municipalities rent committee if your contract is registered with EJARI. In the unlikely event though of a dispute we would endeavour to first address the landlord’s and your grievances to come to an agreeable solution on both sides and maintain a good relationship.
