EJARI, which translates in to ‘My rent’ is an on-line system developed by Dubai’s Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) to enhance transparency in the market, it is here where it collects its rent index data from and to protect the tenant-landlord relationship.

Since Mmarch 2010, it is an official requirement to register all rent contracts on Ejari. The responsibility is with the landlord however, the cost is the responsibility of the tenant. in the case of renting a property with us, Emirates Realty can provide this service to you at a cost of 500 AED.

So why do you need to register your contract? Because, if there is a dispute between the landlord and tenant over a rent increase or anything else, you can only bring the case in front of Dubai Municipalities rent committee if your contract is registered with EJARI. In the unlikely event of a dispute we would endeavor to first address the landlord with your grievances in order to get to an agreeable solution on both sides and maintain a good relationship.

Because, if you and we would seriously hope not, you fall out with your landlord over a rent increase or anything else, you can only bring a dispute in front of Dubai Municipalities rent committee if your contract is registered with EJARI. In the unlikely event though of a dispute we would endeavour to first address the landlord’s and your grievances to come to an agreeable solution on both sides and maintain a good relationship.
